Evonik and Fuhua Tongda Chemicals Company (Fuhua) have established Evonik Fuhua Materials (Sichuan) Co., Ltd., a joint venture in Leshan, Sichuan Province, to produce and market hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in China. Evonik holds a 51% stake, with Fuhua owning 49%. Production is set to begin in the first half of 2026.

The joint venture leverages Evonik鈥檚 peroxide expertise and Fuhua鈥檚 local infrastructure. It follows a November 2023 license agreement, in which Evonik licensed its H鈧侽鈧 technology for Fuhua鈥檚 200-kiloton megaplant to supply the venture with hydrogen peroxide for purification.

鈥淭his next step in our successful partnership with Fuhua is of great importance to our strategy in the Asia Pacific region,鈥 said Lauren Kjeldsen, head of Evonik鈥檚 Smart Materials division. 鈥淥ur Active Oxygens business line aims to provide specialty solutions for some of the most important challenges facing a growing population, such as green energy and electronics. In Fuhua, we have found a partner with whom we can join forces to pursue these goals. Congratulations to the team on this milestone.鈥
