Pilot Chemical Company plans to significantly expand its North American production of anionic surfactants at its Middletown, Ohio manufacturing site — more than doubling its alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS) supply for household, industrial and institutional (I&I), and personal care markets.
“This investment builds on Pilot’s strong leadership position in AOS and allows us to meet the growing requirements of our customers,” said Mike Clark, CEO of Pilot Chemical Company. “Our Middletown facility, which is our largest site, is well positioned to support this growth. The site is located near many of our household, I&I and personal care customers and can produce a broad range of anionic surfactants.”
In other news, Pilot has partnered exclusively with Kao Corporation to introduce Bio IOS® biobased internal olefin sulfonates to the North American market. The company says that Bio IOS® technology will enable customers to meet sustainability goals without compromising performance in a range of household, I&I, personal care, and other applications.
